General Information
The Department of Medical Oncology was established on 21st April 2016 by up gradation from independent Medical Oncology Unit. Since then this department is achieving new height in the field of cancer care of all ages with the goal to provide best possible comprehensive medical care services even to patients with low socio-economical background maintaining scientific attitude and humane approach. The department is providing state of art treatment services for cancer patients coming from not only Rajasthan but also from neighboring states including Punjab, Haryana, Gujrat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. The department is providing care through medical oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant services and clinical trial services.
The center is delivering almost free services to the low socioeconomic status patients under various schemes of Rajasthan government. The center also has special OPD for care of central lines (PICC, central line, Chemo-port and Hickmann line).
This is one of the few centers in the country to have established hematopoietic stem cell transplant facilities. Bone Marrow Transplant services are also state of art at our center. We are providing facilities of autologus, allogenic and half matched allogenic stem cell transplant services for all kind of hematological, pediatric malignancies and non-malignant disorders. We are first to provide half-matched allogenic BMT services in government medical college in India.
The department of Medical Oncology also participates in clinical trials. Various national and international clinical trial are undergoing at present.
In collaboration with state government, Department is providing services for cancer awareness and cancer detection. We trained the physician from Rajasthan state in this field. Screening program for early cancer detection are being conducted art regular basis in Rajasthan. We are also conducting camps, Continuing education programs, symposia on topics related to cancer.
Medical Oncology has been actively working with various NGO’s to provide services to children and females patients. Children and adolescent patients are receiving free shelter and food during treatment.
