The Department of Forensic Medicine is well structured and equipped for effective learning of Undergraduate & Postgraduates students. It has a lecture theatre equipped with AV aids (LCD & overhead projectors), Demonstration rooms, Practical Laboratory equipped with 40+ microscopes, Research Laboratory, Seminar Room, Departmental Library with more 100 books, Journals & Dissertations of PG Candidates, Museum with numerous specimens, photographs, bones, skiagrams, weapons, models, charts, poisons, etc.
There is implementation of newer teaching learning methodologies for both undergraduates & postgraduates with facility of demonstration of Medico-legal autopsy to undergraduates of II MBBS (in Batches) & internship students. There is a structured learning programme for post graduates including seminars, journal clubs, case presentations, group discussions & guests-lectures from faculties of other departments along with regular updating of log books by all Diploma & Degree candidates as per MCI guidelines. There is vast exposure of all types of medico legal work to the postgraduates of the Department. The postgraduates also regularly assist the faculty in undergraduates’ practical teaching work. The department also provides facilities for research and dissertation work to post graduate students.
