Charak Bhawan house has four major departments:
Ø Department of Ophthalmology
Ø Department of Skin, VD and Leprosy
Ø Department of ENT
Ø IVF center
Charak Bhawan is a five storey building including basement .The lay-out of the building is made patient friendly and efforts have been made to provide entire range of treatment under one roof.
Eye and Skin OPD are situated at ground floor with grand reception area, OPD registration, admission and cash counters. Nearly 30000 patients per month visit this centre for various ailments. All counters are provided with computers and power back up. And as a part of e-governance initiative registration and admission work is fully computerized.
To provide medical and nursing care this floor houses 60 beded Eye ward and 60 beded Skin, VD and Leprosy ward. There is drug distribution centre(DDC) for indoor patients which supplies free medicines under the MNDY scheme.
This floor houses Eye operation theaters, Audiometry, Retina clinic and IVF center. A state of art IVF center first of its kind in Rajasthan. It provides ART (assisted reproductive techniques) to the needy. Retina clinic is a super specialty facility dedicated to diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases. Audiometery center provide services to hearing impaired.
ENT OT and ENT ward is situated at this floor, where various ENT operations are done and medical as well as nursing care is provided to admitted patients.
At the basement a Drug warehouse was established on 2nd oct 2011 which procure and distribute medicine to various DDC(s) , OT, ICU and wards of SMS Hospital under Mukhya Mantri Nishulk Dava Yojna (MNDY) one of its kind in Rajasthan. Besides this there is administrative office of department of ophthalmology. Nursing Superintendent office is located in the basement which manages nursing services and other housekeeping affairs.
Patient Care Major Achievements:-
More than 1.5 lakh patient visited this centre since Jan 2015 out of which nearly 9000 patient admitted and were provided medical as well as ideal nursing care Nearly 6000 eye patients and 4100 ENT patient operated for various ailments.
