Patient Care (Major Achievements)
Mahila Chikitsalaya is one of the major departments of S.M.S Medical College, Jaipur. It has made remarkable strides in the past & continues to work hard for excellence in patient care, clinical & experimental research & post graduate teaching & training of the residents.
The institution has grown over the years & is currently having 404 sanctioned beds. There is a qualified team of 43 doctors, 30 residents & 275 nurses which provide free health care services round the clock.
Various incentive related government flagship schemes were launched in Rajasthan since 2006 namely
(1) JSY (Janani Suraksha Yojana) in April 2006
(2) JSSY (Janani Shishu Suraksha Yojana) in September 2011.
(3) MNDY (Mukhyamantri Nishulk Dava Yojana) on 2nd October 2011
(4) MNJY (Mukhymantri Nishulk Jaanch Yojana) in April 2013 &
(5) Shubhlaxmi Mukhymantri Yojana in April 2013.
Since 2007, the institutional deliveries have increased immensely thus providing increased survival of mother & child due to safe deliveries. In 2014, the statistics shows:-

In 2014, the beneficiaries of pathology, microbiology, biochemistry investigations , radiology & others were 145885, 69296, 105066, 62799 & 691 respectively.
In year 2014-15 free transport was provided to 2909 ANC patients till their residence. (Rural & referred) In Year 2014-15, 6074 urban ANC patients received fare for coming to the hospital for delivery & going back to their residence.
Similarly the beneficiaries of FW services and Immunization clinic have greatly increased. Due to better communication, consultation & comprehensive treatment an average of 294 ANC patients and 197 Gynae patients are benefitted daily in the OPD. There are total no. of 90 to 108 IPD admissions /day. There are approximately 20 to 25 LSCS /day and 25 to 33 vaginal deliveries/day.
Milestones of recent developments & achievements in patient care are upgradation of nursery, Milk Bank inauguration in March 2015 & new addition of AC wing containing 60 beds in Sept 2015 for maternal care.
4D ultrasound & mammography have also been started shortly. Similarly internet connection & computers have been made available in the department. A total no. of 47 CCTV cameras have been installed throughout the hospital with central monitoring for security purposes.
Another feather in the cap is newly built modern 100 bedded mother & neonatal wing (17 crores) which will be inaugurated shortly and will cater to the needs of Rajasthan & nearby areas.
