· The number of patients in OPD are 55,000 per year on an average. Above 6500 patients are admitted and about 4500 major operations are performed in each year which is the highest in the country.

· The department has reported highest number of anorectal malformation particularly congenital pouch colon in the world literature, besides other anamolies.
· The department has made a world record of smallest child operated for gall bladder stones, which was entered in Limca Book of World Records.
· Dr. Praveen Mathur is also trained in Liver Transplant surgery and was also an operative team member of the 1st successful liver transplant at SMS Hospital, Jaipur.
· The department also performed first Whipples Surgery in pediatric patient for a rare pancreatic tumor (Insulinoma), and successful separation of conjoint twins.
· The surgical unit 3 was awarded the running trophy for cleanliness and administrative efficiency for the year 2018.
· About 50 research papers are published per year from the department in prestigious journals.
· The department is known for its dedication and skill towards pediatric patient cares.
· Patient satisfaction rate is 100% according to the survey conducted by different agencies.
“Epidemic Action Plan” (EAP)
We have developed our own “Epidemic Action Plan” (EAP) for management of Paediatric Surgical Patients at J.K. Lon Hospital, during Corona Pandemic
As soon as the patient is admitted in the Department of Paediatric Surgery, based on the following questionnaire, the patient is shifted to Suspect COVID ward (B block of PSU 2), or Suspect COVID nursery (SNNR-B), depending upon the age of the patient.

PS:- The check list/Questionnaire for Corona suspect should be filled, signed by duty doctor and attached to each indoor patient ticket.

We have identified the Patient referral pathway within the hospital, like transfer of the cases safely without disease transmission, i.e., avoiding exposure to non-COVID areas.
